Vancouver mother and child photography

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, ever spoken to me for any length of time or heard me speak at an event you’ll have heard just how strongly I believe in the power of mother and child photography. I firmly believe that every mama needs a beautiful portrait with her little ones, even if they’re not so little anymore.

But why?

First and foremost, we need to be in our family photographs because we are important members of our family and our photographs should reflect that. From the moment our littles are born we start putting everyone else first. Yet we are such important members of our families and our photographs need to reflect that.

Secondly, think of your littles 10 years from now. When they look back at the photographs from today, will they see you in them? I can guarantee they would rather see you in them (even if you think you weren’t look your best) than wonder where you were when all the photographs were being taken. They will not care that you’re 3 weeks past due for your hair appointment or that you meant to haven’t been to the gym quite as much as you would liked in the last little while.

Finally, displaying beautiful family portraits on your walls is a visual representation of your relationship with those you love the most. What better way to decorate your home than with artwork of the ones you hold dearest. My mission is to help you look and feel beautiful in your family photographs so you’ll be proud to display them on your walls. And I guarantee your heart will be filled with joy every time you walk past your portraits.

So how can be in the photograph with your littles more?

  1. Hand over the camera to your husband.
  2. Set your camera on a dresser or table and use the timer feature. Not only will you be in the photograph your get the added bonus of lots of exercise from running back and forth to hit the timer button.
  3. Snap a selfie of you and your littles with your iphone every day for the next week. Make sure you zoom your camera out and to push your chin forward just a bit to avoid the dreaded double chin.
  4. Book a professional photography session. The experience at Jenn Di Spirito Photography includes a wardrobe consultation in your home and a hair & make-up artist on the day of your session so you walk into the session looking your best. During the session Jenn gives mamas a little extra attention so you’re in the most flattering spots as you’re loving on your family.

Have you been in the photograph lately?
