Join me as I take one photo a week for the next year, each one capturing a specific aspect of our family life and my kid’s childhood that I want remembered. You can read the introduction post here, an FAQ post here and all related posts here.
So how did week 1 go? We sometimes play in the front yard but not all the time since it’s not fenced. Looking through all our photos we didn’t really have one of the front of the house so I’m really loving that I have last week’s shot to add to my album.
Now on to week 2.
The second week of each month is going to be devoted to capturing our family relationships.
Assignment 2: Take a group shot of your immediate family.
This week I want you to take a group shot of your immediate family. It’s up to you where and how you do it, just make sure you’re all in it together. You can use the timer feature on your camera, go self-portrait style and hold your camera out as far away as you can and hope for the best or just hand your camera over to a trustworthy-looking person passing by your table when you’re all out for dinner.
Most of our family shots happen when we’re at a wedding or baptism or something where we’re all dressed up so I really wanted to make mine a casual one in our home.
I had big plans for a couple funny shots but it was a bit of a rough week here with too much on our to do list and not enough fun time. Already, into the second week, I’m so thankful for this project. Because with the week we had, outside of client work, I have a feeling my camera would have otherwise been gathering dust this week.
And really, this photo is so us – the way Jim is kissing Angelo’s head, the way Angelo is looking up at Gracie, the funny face Gracie makes when she’s curious about something and all of us sitting on the floor of our living room where we spend so much time.
If you have your photo posted somewhere online I’d love to see it – link below in the comments.
