Join me as I take one photo a week for the next year, each one capturing a specific aspect of our family life and my kid’s childhood that I want remembered. You can read the introduction post here, an FAQ post here and all related posts here.
On the third week of every month I photograph something seasonal or a time of our day.
Assignment 51: Photograph your end of year activities.
Is anyone else exhausted? We have had so many amazing teachers and coaches in our life this past year that these two weeks (last week and this coming week) of year-end celebrations, graduations, last practices, last games and parties are wearing me out – physcially and emotionally.
This week I want you to photograph your year-end activities. It’s an easy one this week since you’ll probably have your camera out at these events anyway. But I do encourage you to take your camera to that last baseball practice and take a photograph with the coach or to school to take a photograph with their teacher – especially if they had a profound impact on your little and your family this year.
Gracie’s year end gymnastics show is tomorrow so I’m going to be swapping out this one of her on the bars for one of her and her teacher at the year-end celebration. Although, I do love this photograph of her so confidently doing something that she couldn’t do when we started gymnastics this year.
And I love this one of Angelo looking so happy and proud in his graduation gown. His preschool has been incredible and they go all out for any kind of celebration. Consider yourself lucky that I didn’t post a video of him reciting his year-end poem to a gymnasium filled with people. He volunteered to do the poem and practiced saying it loud and clear. When his turn came around he didn’t even pause, just belted it out for everyone to hear. I love how he’s grown so much this year and become so much more outgoing and I am so grateful to all his teachers and coaches for encouraging him along the way.
I’d love to see your year-end photographs once you’ve taken them – please comment below or send me an email. Only one more photograph left in my Our Year in Photos project. Congrats to all of you who are playing along and have made it this far.
