So really, how hard can it be to make gnocchi…..
My husband would eat pasta every night if I would make it that often. But one thing we don’t eat a lot of at home is gnocchi, yet it’s something that both of us order when we’re out for dinner.
I looked up a couple of recipes and pulled out a couple of cookbooks and settled on one from Giada De Laurentiis.
They ended up taking a lot longer to make than I thought. To actually mix the ingredients wasn’t that long but all the time to roll, cut and try to make the grooves (notice I said try) took a while. It might have helped if I hadn’t wanted to make enough for 2 nights but I hated to go through all that work and not have enough for a second night.
I didn’t say they’d be pretty!
All in all I was pretty happy with how they came out. They were a little potato-y tasting but light and fluffy so overall I’d call it a success.
